Efe wins 2017 BBN based on major logistics

After 77 days in the Big Brother Nigeria house in faraway South Africa, a winner has been crowned for the 2017 edition of the widely followed TV reality show that took the entire continent by storm for almost three months – and it is none other than aspiring rapper Efe; the bubbly, dark skinned guy from Warri, Delta state.

Known for his dread locks and trademark pidgin English slangs, Efe warmed the hearts of millions of viewers over the course of the show and so it really never came as a surprise that he won.

Even at NAIJ.com when a Facebook livetsream was held on Thursday, April 6, 2017; the hosts weighed the chances of all the five finalists but Efe and Bisola looked likeliest to win. And in the end it was just in that order, with Efe, Bisola and Tboss finishing first, second and third respectively.

While the humorous, aspiring rapper got 57.61 per cent of the votes to clinch the first prize, Bisola aspiring actress had 18.54 per cent of the votes. Tboss whose reputation has been dealt quite some blow by the online community on social media finished with 13.60 per cent of the votes.

The last two finalists Debbie-Rise and Marvis had 8.79 per cent and 1.47 per cent of the votes respectively.

But whatever the case, the finalists have all earned themselves considerable recognition and can ride on the platform into doing great stuff for themselves in the near future.

In fact, it has been argued that regardless of the star prize all the contestants are already stars-in-the-making. We will have to wait and see how that plays out.

However, with his N25 million prize money also came a brand new Kia Sorento SUV.

It wasn’t always an easy ride for him though as he was put up for eviction in January and March but found his way back into the house by virtue of votes and supports from his fans outside including several popular entertainers.
Born Ejeba Michael Efe, he studied Economics and though he was raised partly in Jos where went to school from primary to university level, he never lost touch of core elements from his tribe as is evident in his language and use of slangs, the most memorable of them being the now-so-popular line "based on logistics".

This ability to maintain a relatable personality is why he was a fans’ favourite through the course of the show.
Bisola was also announced as the winner of the One Campaign which would see her travel to conferences and deliver a paper on key issues later in the year.
The audience was thrilled at the grand finale with music performances from Tuface Idibia, Tiwa Savage and Emmy Gee.
The Big Brother Nigeria reality show came back after a 10-year break and gathered unending reviews from fans and critics with some maintaining the show was too raunchy and others stressing that it passed on no moral values for the viewers.

Whatever the case, the show remains huge success owing to the social media feedbacks and numbers it garners on a daily basis from viewership and rave reviews.
