Timaya receives backlash for collabo with Paul Okoye

Dancehall star Timaya has shut down reports that he is trying to heat up some rivalry between brothers Peter and Paul Okoye of P-Square.

At present, fans are ocupying his Instagram page as they call him out unendingly but he's maintained it’s nothing but a collaboration between him and one half of the music group.

It all started after the I Concur crooner got on the picture-sharing, video-sharing platform on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 and shared a picture of Paul Okoye, adding that his next single has the latter on as a guest artiste even as he believes he is the best.

He wrote:

"My Next single is with this man @rudeboypsquare cause I believe he’s the realest and the BEST.. watch out for it!"

This was quickly responded to by social media users who have served him quite a fine does of backlash online ever since.

Read a few of the feedbacks he recieved:

Princesspchali wrote: "I love you Timaya but abeg nor cause trouble b/w Peter n Paul which one b realest and best."

Otwyst wrote: "Egberi I am Highly disappointed, I repeat HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED. 1st and foremost if u were truly sorry about this post, u would have edited your lame caption by now to set records straight! 2ndly for u to put up this arrogant caption, it means something wrong must have gone wrong for u to only feature Paul alone instead of the twins(I dunno 4 sure). No artist have tried to feature them separately except 4 last year when they had issues, which only happened once (Big Mistake).

"Now u want to release single and u think this will add value by featuring him alone??? I laugh. With all that has happened,u still haven't realised the value and power of these twins together in a video??? U underestimate the other 4getting he has mad fan base than his second. God have a reason for giving them their separate talents as twins going hand in hand. Even if Paul sing pass MJ, my Bro if he's the only one appearing for ur video it will have that in depth grasp/value when u have both of them in it. Yes!

"Even if na cough of swag pose Peter do for that video. Please receive sense and do the right thing. They are both Valuable and still massively HUGE in Africa. That's why people cant fully support when they see them separately in a musical video. It has been odained. But if u insist on this journey act right by changing this caption. It's highly offensive/defamatory to his twin... All the best."

Then Wealthy_ordu wrote: "Uncle timaya...this ur move is not the smartest at all ooo.it will be nice if it's corrected...words when said can never be taken back @timayatimaya"

As well as Deevaofficial: "This is poor of you to be selective and try to start something."

Clearly, they are not happy with him.

Following this, the controversial entertainer shared a video on same day of himself trying to explain away the reason he had Paul Okoye alone on the song.

The last has obviously not been seen or heard of this as neither of the brothers has spoken up.

Recall that they had a messy 2016 following several issues within the Okoye family which led to a fall out between all three of them (Peter, Paul and Jude) but they resolved their differences after months of attempts to go solo with their careers.

Some insiders believe the brothers are yet to find their foot again as A-list entertainers in Nigeria following the issues.

Fans also share this view which is why their anger is understandable over Timaya's latest move.

Hopefully it is nothing but a PR stunt in the end. We shall keep you updated.
